TechTeam welcomes UChicago students (undergrad and graduate) of all backgrounds who are interested in using technology to advance the public good. There are many ways to get involved throughout the year, so don't be afraid to jump in!

This year, we are implementing a general membership process. If you meet the requirements for any track for a quarter, you will retain membership for the entire year. Membership perks include official membership in TechTeam, access to socials, having your name on the website listed under "Members," merch, and priority consideration for future TechTeam-related projects, positions, and opportunities.
Tracks:
Projects Track: The Clients Team builds technical solutions for Chicago nonprofits. Each quarter, there are 5-6 projects ranging from web development to data analysis. These are a great way to gain technical experience writing and deploying production level code and working on software as part of a larger team.
Workshops Track: Workshops Track hopes to highlight relevant tech industry and project skills for future engagement with TechTeam's Client projects and IOP internship opportunities! Past topics include Web Development, Data Science, Neural Networks, and UX Design.
Tech & Society Hub: The Tech & Society Hub hopes to foster conversations and interest around technology policy and ethics-related questions. Projects include planning a technology policy conference, engaging in discussions, and writing about relevant topics ranging from human-computer interaction research to technology and AI policy on the state, federal, and international levels!
UC Open Data: UC Open Data is a group dedicated to making datasets easily accessible and understandable to the general public. Datasets are usually focused on the University, the city of Chicago, or the state of Illinois.
