Cook County Assessor's Office

The Cook County Assessor’s Office determines the value of properties in Cook County for the purpose of setting the appropriate tax value. TechTeam is in the process of making a website that takes in a property as input and explains the property’s assessment breakdown and the dollar amount of each contribution. The Assessor’s Office uses a machine learning model to generate its property breakdowns. While the bulk of work is in web development, students who are interested in working with ML models are also encouraged to apply. Please note that this project is continuing on from Winter Quarter and has fewer open spots for new project members.
